Ok, I have completely rewritten this introductory note. Firstly this fact is divided into four different sections : General Use, WEP cracking, AP Sniffing and Personal Favorite.
The General Use is a list of Wi-Fi cards that are usually antenna-mod friendly and have gotten praise from users. This does not mean that they are ideal for the hardcore wardriver, but they are adequate for normal WLAN use.
The WEP cracking preferred card is of course cards which are mostly preferred by the WEP cracking people. In order to perform such a job, you would need a tool such as AirSnort (remember this is windows oriented site), and that piece of software works best, if not only, with the PrismII type cards.
The Wardriving cards are those that are best for everyday wardrving. These cards are based on the Hermes chipset (which are the most compatible cards to use in conjunction of Netstumbler).
The personal favorite is of course what I would recommend to the beginner wardriver (Orinoco Gold cards are the best to have when wardriving).
And once again, this list is not 100% complete. Why ? because I need your help. I cannot make this place work by myself. Anything from a report of a typo to contributions are welcomed.
